Remember that I am free. As a mature adult, I can author my own life. This is a freeing rather than a burdensome fact! (with influence from Jesse, and A Walk in the Physical)
[when struggling to drop in to the present moment] What if the way you are right now - "stuck" in your head, flailing, struggling - is already perfect?
"I don't want you to change at all" (via Simon, from Brent). You don't need to change at all. You are already perfect.

Heartwomb breathing: imagine the center of your awareness resting in your womb as you move through the world. Imagine a great heart there, beating slowly with each breath you take. (from Kasia Urbaniak)

Try believing something nonsensical. What if it were true?
Try believing the opposite. What if the opposite were true? (related: Byron Katie's The Work, Existential Kink)
2. Remember: there is nothing I can solve by thinking right now (there is no pattern/sequence of thoughts I can think that will save me).
one time these steps did not work for me, so I tried believing the opposite (see above), and got: "now is the time for me to solve everything. Now is the time for my brain to do all its thinking and solving, under the hood. The rest of my body can rest while it does that."
